About Us

Over 10 years ago, Adam Stone, a rainforest conservationist, began living and working in Peru. In that time he started a family with a Shipibo woman and lives with the village. Adam facilitates many projects with the community such as reforestation, agroforestry, clean water and waste management,  health clinics and education. He helps run the Jungle Earth Living School, a Shipibo owned cooperative and Peruvian non-profit that supports the various projects.

At Tierra Vida Center, we invite guests to sit in traditional ayahuasca ceremonies along with other native plant medicines and herbal remedies for physical, psychological and spiritual self-actualization. Through our retreats we aim to help raise awareness in the preservation of shamanic traditions, local indigenous cultures and the Amazon Rainforest.

The Tierra Vida Center is maintained by Shipibo, the Peruvian indigenous people working in various areas such as cooking, building, permaculture, maintenance, etc.  We are committed to sharing the gift of the medicine by inviting guests from all corners of the world to join us here. Through this cultural exchange we also aim to improve the lives of the community members, specifically through education. 20% of all proceeds go towards facilitating literacy education for Shipibo children. The Tierra Vida Center does not look to profit, rather to extend the beauty of the medicine and the indigenous culture of the Shipibo people.  All revenue generated at Tierra Vida retreats goes to the most basic transportation, shelter, and food for our local staff as well as towards maintenance and development of our facilities.

Our ceremonial structure, the Maloka is very spacious, providing a comfortable environment for the profound experience.  It is situated further back on the land amongst the banana and mango trees.  Here we are in the presence of the sounds of the jungle, where nature's orchestra graciously joins us in our sacred ceremonies. Most ceremonies are between 4 and 7 people, but we never host more than 10 at a time.
